Jon Stewart turned his attention to Donald Trump's comments about Nicki Minaj on Monday night's episode of "The Daily Show," after the president's remarks about the rapper's "beautiful ass" spread widely online.

Stewart opened the show with the midterm elections and the topics he said voters are, "for some reason," focused on: the economy, the cost of living and the war in Iran. He said Trump was back on the campaign trail to deliver his closing arguments, and joked that the president would surely be "laser-focused on the issues that matter most."

The show then played a clip of Trump saying: "I looked at his ass, and I've never done that with a man before. A man's ass, his ass, the ass. His ass was like a big piece of muscle."

Stewart followed with a clip from Trump's rally in Michigan on Saturday, in which the president said, "By the way, I looked at one hell of a beautiful ass before, Nicki Minaj. That's hard to miss." Stewart told viewers not to feel left out, saying Trump had "plenty of ammo left" for women too.

Visibly bewildered, Stewart asked how the footage could be real. He mimicked the president's call for Minaj to stand up and twirl around, then quipped: "Talk about inflation, my God!" He also pointed to Trump's expression while Minaj spoke, saying the president looked transfixed and was "like Yogi Bear floating towards a pie on a windowsill."

Stewart also went after an ad from Vivek Ramaswamy, the Republican hopeful for Ohio governor, that features the estranged mother of Democratic candidate Amy Acton. He said the ad might be compelling were it not for a few mitigating factors. According to Stewart, Acton's mother has not spoken to her daughter in 50 years, and the reason is that she lost custody of her children because her husband at the time was indicted for raping her daughter.

Stewart then showed Trump defending the ad. In the clip, the president called a reporter who asked whether the sexual abuse allegations meant nothing to him a "horrible little reporter." Stewart responded by asking, "When did Donald Trump become Miss Hannigan?"

The episode followed an announcement last week that Stewart will remain host of "The Daily Show" through 2028. His contract had been set to expire at the end of 2026, after he signed a one-year renewal in November 2025.

Stewart first hosted the program in 1999 and left in 2015. He returned in February 2024, and the show's ratings have gone up since his return.
