Only 20 parents or caregivers can attend each session of a new free parenting series beginning this week. The three-part seminar, titled “Parenting the Early Years,” runs on Nov. 2, 9, and 16 at The Lullabar, 7750 El Camino Real, Suite M. Each meeting lasts from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Coastal Therapy Group and McCammack Pediatrics are partnering for the event. Licensed child psychologist C. Julieta Aguilera Rice and pediatrician Dr. Brad McCammack will lead the discussions. The sessions target families with children approximately between the ages of one and five. Parents may choose to attend just one session or the full series.

The schedule addresses specific developmental challenges. The Nov. 2 session covers sleep needs, bedtime routines, and separation anxiety. The Nov. 9 meeting focuses on picky eating, growth, nutrition, and sensory sensitivities. The final session on Nov. 16 examines tantrums, emotional overwhelm, and de-escalation techniques. It also includes a discussion on stress, screen time, and behavior.

Aguilera Rice leads the Connected Parenting group at Coastal Therapy Group. McCammack, a Carlsbad pediatrician, spent 12 years at Vista Community Clinic before founding McCammack Pediatrics. Each seminar combines their psychological and pediatric perspectives, with dedicated time for audience questions.

Advance registration is required. On-site childcare is available for $25 per child for two hours through The Lullabar, though reservations are needed. Each participant receives a $10 cafe credit. The organizing team stated they want parents to have a place to ask questions and leave with tools for everyday life.

Families can register at coastaltherapygroup.com/parenting-seminar or call 760-334-6262 for details.
