The partisan balance of Florida's U.S. House delegation remained unchanged following the Tuesday midterm elections.
Democrats retained four congressional districts that were heavily redrawn in April, while Republicans secured narrow victories in several other contests.
The new maps, pushed by President Donald Trump and Gov. Ron DeSantis, altered 20 of the state's 28 House districts.
Incumbent Rep. Jared Moskowitz defeated Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer in Congressional District 25.
Rep. Kathy Castor held her seat in Congressional District 14 against former Republican state House member Mike Beltran.
Castor's new district includes more Republican-leaning areas of Hillsborough County and voted for Trump by 11 points in 2024.
Suzan DelBene, chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, stated that Tampa voters supported Castor despite Republican map changes.
First-time candidate Pia Dandiya won Congressional District 22, which spans from Collier County to Palm Beach and Broward counties.
This district previously centered on urban areas of Palm Beach County and was held by Rep. Lois Frankel, who moved to District 23.
Rep. Darren Soto led Democrat Dan Green in Congressional District 9 by a margin of 50.26 percent to 49.74 percent.
This lead placed the race just outside the 0.5 percent threshold required to trigger a recount under state law.
Republicans maintained control in several close districts across the state late Tuesday night. In Congressional District 7, which covers Seminole County and part of Volusia County, Republican Ryan Elijah led Democrat Bale Dalton 49.8 percent to 49.2 percent. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna held her seat in Congressional District 13 with 49.5 percent of the vote against Democrat Leela Gray, who received 48.7 percent. In Congressional District 4, which includes Nassau, Clay, and Duval counties, Rep. Aaron Bean defeated Democrat LaShonda Holloway 50 percent to 48.3 percent. Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar led Democrat Eliott Rodriguez in Congressional District 27 by 50.27 percent to 49.73 percent. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart held a 49.9 percent lead over Democrat Nicole Locklin in Congressional District 26. If these late results hold, the Florida delegation will consist of 20 Republicans and eight Democrats.
