Forest Lake Academy in Apopka will hold a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, November 6, at 11:30 a.m. to celebrate the completion of major campus improvements. The event is scheduled to take place at the academy located at 500 Education Loop. The ceremony will mark a significant milestone in the school's history and recognize the investment made in its students and future.

Founded in 1918, Forest Lake Academy is a private Seventh-day Adventist Christian college-preparatory high school. The institution is committed to academic excellence, spiritual growth, and preparing students to serve their communities. The new facilities are designed to support this mission by creating spaces that assist students academically, socially, and spiritually.

The projects being celebrated include a new administrative building that will support the school's operations and services. Additionally, a new classroom building has been constructed featuring eight classrooms and four science laboratories. These additions are intended to expand opportunities for learning, discovery, and hands-on exploration for the student body.

Other improvements include a new athletic field pavilion with restrooms, which will provide a welcoming space for students, families, and visitors during athletic events. The school has also renovated its student center to offer an improved space for student connection and campus life. A security gate surrounding the campus core has been installed to strengthen access and security, while new awnings have been added to provide protection from sun and rain.

The theme for the celebration is From These Walls to the World. This theme is intended to recognize the vision, generosity, and dedication that made the projects possible. The event will bring together school leadership, students, faculty, families, supporters, and community members to reflect on the faith that has sustained the academy for more than a century.

Dr. Glen Baker, Principal, and Mr. Jaymie Pottinger, Vice Principal, will be available for interviews during the event. The administration views the grand opening as an opportunity to look forward to the promise of what lies ahead. The impact of these new spaces is expected to be measured in the lives of the students who learn, grow, lead, and serve within them.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will serve as a formal recognition of the collective efforts behind the campus transformation. It is more than a celebration of new buildings and improved facilities, but a reflection on the history and future of the school. The event will conclude with the official opening of the new spaces to the school community.
