Universal Epic Universe will add a second roller coaster to its operations.
The new attraction is located in the Dark Universe section of the Orlando park. It is situated next to the existing ride called Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment. This is the first major addition to the park since it opened just over a year ago.
The ride will operate indoors, making it a covered roller coaster. It will feature a new story based on the Universal Monsters franchise. Construction on the structure is currently underway. Officials have not announced a specific opening date, but they expect it to launch in the coming years.
Other Universal parks in the Orlando area have their own scheduled additions for the next few years. Universal Studios Florida will debut a renovated Universal Horror Make-Up Show with Blumhouse later this year. That park will also open a new high-speed coaster named Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift in 2027.
Universal Islands of Adventure will open a new full-service restaurant in its Jurassic Park area in 2027. Universal CityWalk will add a music and entertainment venue called Luke Combs’ Category 10, which is scheduled to open in late 2027. More details about the new Epic Universe ride are expected soon.
