Florida ranks 50th out of 50 states for job growth, according to a new report by WalletHub.

The financial services company analyzed labor market conditions across the country. Its findings place Florida at the bottom of the national list for employment creation. This ranking suggests the state generates new positions at a slower rate than any other state.

WalletHub evaluated 34 specific factors to determine its rankings. These variables included annual average income, average commute time, and job growth rates. The study assigned greater weight to employment factors. The company noted that these elements heavily influence a person’s decision to relocate for work.

Florida also placed 49th in labor market competition. This high ranking indicates intense rivalry among candidates for available positions. The state’s overall score in the study was 46.83.

Chip Lupo, a financial analyst at WalletHub, commented on the findings. He stated that living in a top-ranked state for employment offers stable long-term conditions. Lupo said these conditions help residents manage future economic fluctuations.

The report identified Nebraska as the best state for job seekers. Dakota of North and Minnesota followed in second and third place, respectively. WalletHub attributed these top spots to lower unemployment rates and higher household incomes. The company also noted better access to benefits and healthy work environments in these states.

Lupo added that top-ranked states help residents find and keep jobs. He said employers in these areas offer competitive compensation and benefits. He described these states as excellent places to raise a family, noting they rank highly for working parents.
