The Houston Cougars are the heavy favorites to defeat the Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday in a Big 12 matchup in Houston. Prediction markets currently price the probability of a Houston victory at 79%, while a Cincinnati win sits at 22%.

Both teams enter the game with a loss on the record from last week. Houston, currently 6-2 overall, lost a one-score game to Utah in Week 8 before taking a bye in Week 9. Cincinnati, which is 5-3 on the season, suffered a blowout loss to the same Utah team last weekend. That defeat marked the third consecutive difficult contest for the Bearcats in Big 12 play.

The Cougars hold a distinct advantage at home. Houston is unbeaten in its home games this season, and four of its six victories have come by a margin of more than 10.5 points. In contrast, the Bearcats have not won a road game this year. All three of Cincinnati's losses this season have been by more than 10.5 points. The SportsLine Projection Model, which runs 10,000 simulations of each game, projects Houston to win 76% of the time.

Market odds reflect the expected dominance of the home team. There is a 50% probability that Houston will win by more than 10.5 points. A 50% probability also exists for the combined team total to exceed 60.5 points, though the SportsLine model suggests the score will stay below that number in most simulations.

Both offenses rank highly in the nation for scoring. Houston ranks 20th with an average of 36.0 points per game. Cincinnati ranks 31st with 34.1 points per game. The Cougars' two losses this season came against top-tier opponents, Utah and Texas Tech, with both contests decided by one score.

The game serves as a rebound attempt for both squads after their Week 9 setbacks. Cincinnati is looking to snap a two-game losing streak, while Houston aims to extend its home winning streak. The teams meet in Houston on Saturday for the Week 10 schedule.
