The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 on Wednesday to secure their first World Series title in 58 years. The victory concluded the series in five games, ending a long drought for the small-market franchise and its fans.

Milwaukee Public Schools will cancel classes on Friday to accommodate the citywide victory parade. The procession will move through downtown Milwaukee and finish with a fan fest at Henry Maier Festival Park, located near the Lake Michigan shore.

Thousands of supporters are expected to line the route, while a large police presence will manage the crowds and heavy traffic. At American Family Insurance Amphitheater, one fan reported standing behind 34,000 people in the ticket queue at 8 a.m. for the pre-parade rally.

Judge Michael Maxwell of Waukesha County declared that Brewers attire meets professional decorum standards for courtroom staff, litigants, and attorneys through the end of the celebrations. This local decree allows residents to wear team gear in formal legal settings.

The winning game at the Tropicana Field saw the home team nearly outnumbered by visiting Brewers fans who celebrated in the stands after the final out. The win confirmed the championship for the Brewers, who have now officially clinched the series.

The Friday parade marks the central public event of the multi-day celebration. With schools closed and the city preparing for heavy foot traffic, the focus shifts from the stadium to the streets of downtown Milwaukee.
