More than 800,000 views have been recorded on a video showing a Waymo autonomous vehicle stopped in the middle of a one-lane road near Universal Orlando.

The clip captures the driverless car halted in the roadway while other vehicles queue behind it. Honking is audible throughout the footage. A pedestrian approaches the stationary vehicle and attempts to speak with someone inside, despite the car operating without a human driver.

The video does not reveal the cause of the stop or the method used to restart the vehicle.

This incident follows another viral video from earlier this month involving a Waymo at the intersection of Kirkman Road and Carrier Drive. In that clip, the vehicle appeared to become stuck before crossing the intersection and changing lanes against a red light.

Waymo announced on Tuesday that it is expanding its service footprint in Orlando. The company added 53 square miles to its network, bringing the total local service area to 120 square miles. The expanded zone now includes the Orlando Science Center, Orlando City Hall, and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Reporters emailed Waymo to determine what caused the stop near Universal Orlando and how the vehicle resumed movement. The inquiry also asked what passengers should do if their ride halts unexpectedly and how quickly assistance can reach riders in such situations. Additional questions were sent regarding the safety measures for the earlier incident at Kirkman Road and Carrier Drive.

Waymo has not yet responded to the inquiries. The company will provide an update once it answers those questions.
