The Powerball jackpot has climbed to $760 million for the drawing scheduled for Saturday, October 31. This amount represents the annuity option, which pays out over 30 years. Winners who choose a single cash payment would receive $326 million.
The last jackpot win occurred on May 2 of this year. Two tickets, one sold in Florida and one in Texas, split a $20 million prize. The winning numbers from that May 2 drawing were 11, 13, 16, 47, 60, and the red Powerball 13.
This Saturday's drawing will mark the third jackpot of 2026 to exceed $200 million. In January, a ticket in North Carolina won $209.3 million. Arkansas claimed $250.8 million in March, and Delaware took home $230.8 million in April. A $143 million prize was shared between Indiana and Kansas in late April.
The current jackpot is the ninth largest in Powerball history. The top prize remains $2.04 billion, won in California in November 2022. The second largest was $1.817 billion in Arkansas in December 2025. The third largest, $1.787 billion, was shared by winners in Missouri and Texas in September 2025.
A basic Powerball ticket costs $2. Players can add the Power Play option for $1, which multiplies non-jackpot prizes. This option is not available in California. To win the top prize, a player must match five white balls from a pool of 69 and the red Powerball from a pool of 26. The odds of hitting the jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338.
Residents of Florida are among those who will pay no state income tax on winnings. Other states with no state tax on lottery prizes include California, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming. Federal taxes still apply, with an initial 24% withholding and an additional 13% federal tax rate for 2026 filings.
Drawings take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. The game is sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Players can select their own numbers or use the Quick Pick feature for randomly generated numbers.
The next drawing is set for Saturday evening. If no one wins, the jackpot will continue to grow for the subsequent Monday drawing.
