Jerry Sneed is booked in the Orange County Jail after agents arrested him for posting threats against a Jewish community in Glades County.
The 31-year-old Orlando man was taken into custody on Oct. 28. Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents said they received tips about the online posts on Oct. 19. Those tips led to Sneed’s identification.
FDLE agents stated that Sneed shared pictures of the community’s location alongside an image of a gun. Sneed still had that firearm when officers arrested him. He faces charges for written or electronic threats to kill, do bodily injury, or conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism. He is also charged with unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
The case is being prosecuted by the Glades County state attorney’s office. FDLE has not released the specific text of the messages Sneed posted. Officials did not say when Sneed will be moved to Glades County for his arraignment.
The agency asks the public to report suspicious incidents by calling 855-FLA-SAFE or 911. Sneed remains in custody in Orlando while the extradition process is underway.
