Real Madrid defeated Racing Santander 3-0 on Sunday to remain in third place in the Spanish league. The victory keeps the club three points behind league leader Barcelona.

Kylian Mbappé scored his 12th league goal of the season in the 11th minute. He converted a penalty after being fouled himself. Midfielder Jude Bellingham added a goal midway through the first half, with Mbappé involved in the play. Yan Diomandé struck a powerful shot to make the score 3-0 before halftime.

In Italy, Lazio moved to the top of Serie A with a 2-1 victory over Cagliari. The win capitalized on defending champion Inter Milan's loss to AC Milan on Saturday. Lazio now sits three points ahead of Inter.

Striker Andrea Pinamonti provided the winning goal in the 83rd minute. He had entered the game as a second-half substitute. Pinamonti removed his jersey during his celebration. Gustav Isaksen had earlier equalized for Lazio in the first half after M’Bala Nzola gave Cagliari an early lead in the 21st minute.

The Spanish league observed a moment of silence before every match this weekend to honor the victims of a recent train crash in the country.

Elsewhere in Spain, Getafe defeated struggling Sevilla 3-1. Forward Martín Satriano set up an equalizer for Enes Ünal before scoring himself. Orel Mangala added a late third goal for Getafe.

In other Serie A action, Como beat Venezia 1-0 behind a penalty from Lucas Da Cunha. Venezia, which has lost nine of its last 10 games, remains at the bottom of the table. Frosinone secured sixth place with a 2-0 win over Torino.
