Brightline announced on Thursday that passenger trains are running again between Orlando and West Palm Beach. The service had been paused for one day following severe weather events in the region.

The high-speed rail line stopped operating on Monday. Heavy rainfall in Brevard County created extreme flooding that impacted the track route. Brevard County Emergency Management and the Florida East Coast Railway worked alongside Brightline teams to address the issue.

The company stated that operations returned to normal after water levels dropped. Repair work was finished, and all tracks, signals, and crossings passed inspection by the Florida East Coast Railway.

The route between West Palm Beach and Miami remained open during the suspension. That line serves stops in Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, and Boca Raton. Passengers on that segment did not experience a delay.

Officials advised travelers to use the Brightline app or website for the latest schedule information. The company is directly contacting affected passengers to discuss travel options for trips disrupted by the halt.

Heavy rain hit several Florida counties earlier this week. Some communities in Brevard County recorded up to two feet of precipitation. Officials identified the event as a 100-year flood. The weather caused damage to roads, homes, and businesses, leading to school closures and other service interruptions.
