25 years after starting her annual New York Halloween party, Heidi Klum appeared on Saturday as a giant severed hand. The costume covered her entire body, leaving only her eyes and mouth visible. Blood dripped from her mouth, and the top of the hand displayed dangling ligaments and tendons. Helpers in blood-stained hazmat suits assisted her during the event.

Klum designed the costume to look like her own left hand. It featured long red nails, a thumb ring, an engagement ring, and a wedding band. She also included a tattoo of her husband's name on the ring finger, along with detailed palm lines and veins. Klum said the concept developed over the past year after she considered fitting her body into a hand shape.

Creating the look required five to six hours of application on the day of the party, though the construction took much longer. Klum shared photos of the prosthetics being applied to her face on Instagram earlier in the day. She described carrying the heavy prosthetic as the most difficult part of the experience.

Her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, missed the event because he was on tour. Despite his absence, Klum said a little bit of him was with her in the costume details. She previously went viral in 2022 for a worm costume that used a fishing line to bring her to the party.

The 25-year run includes other notable appearances. Klum has dressed as Medusa, a peacock, an 8-foot-tall Transformer, a werewolf from Michael Jackson's Thriller video, a clone with lookalikes, and Kali, the Hindu goddess of death.
